Relais Chateau, farmhouses and kosher winery.
In Chianti, in Maremma and …

A Patrician 19th century villa with an extraordinary botanical park. Farms and wineries with some tasting of Chianti Classic kosher wine, organic products and welcoming Hebrew speaking people. This the Tuscany jewish friendly, vineyards as far as the eye can see, and a patrician villa from the late nineteenth century, houses with rooms scattered among cypress and oak trees, and with a gaze one gets lost in the hills. We are in the estate of Monaciano, a few kilometers from Siena, a kind of “Relais chateau” whose history, curiously, meets the Destiny of the Jewish family Piperno, a dynasty of cloth makers, who escaped from Rome that was, hurt by Racial Laws for finding their shelter in the Sienese Chianti.

They hid themselves right here, within these walls. In the midst of the war, with a nominee, they bought Monaciano and its endless acres of land. When the war was over, they returned to Rome and their fabric store. No one knew how to cultivate the soil. So what to do with all this wonder in ruins? There will be their children and grandchildren who will take care of this place: they will study agrarian subjects, learn to make wine, and restore the ruins of the main house and the nearby houses around the vineyards, bringing together, not only the wine business but, also, taking care of the hospitality, welcoming people.

A historical park, lemon, dovecotes, ninfeo vintage, greenhouse and conservatory, party room, billiards room and smoking room, mirror room and library, all in period furnishings; in short, an Italian Downton Abbey in Jewish flavour, can you imagine such a thing? You could rent the entire patrician residence or apartments in rustic, you could host wedding parties, conferences and events, with kosher food from Florence, Siena or Rome (on demand).

We can feel at home in the heart of Tuscany with a warm friendly Jewish atmosphere. Few kilometers away, always in the Chianti region, there is another magical place, an all bio farm (also honey and olive oil are pure biological products), rustic luxury, Daniel della Seta’s Le Macie, which produces Chianti Classico, an excellent wine koshered and bottled with the brand “Terre di Seta” (Silky lands, with Rabbi certification). Spectacular views, apartments with private kitchens, kosher foods that you can get from Rome or Florence (from Ruth’s restaurant), on request. One of the most famous kosher wineries in Italy and Europe (certified): the plus is in guided tours of wineries with wine tasting and appetizers, all strictly kosher. Not to mention that a 15-minute drive away is the splendid synagogue of Siena.

The same can be said about the farm San Fabiano, in Monteroni d’Arbia, Philip and Rachel Fiorentini family, a jewel of hospitality and luxury bucolic, hebrew speaking. Changing area, towards Volterra, surrounded by the hills of the Val d’Elsa, there is the Franca Voghera and Beppe’s Podere Barbaiano, a corner of paradise rustic chic, with deer, horses, rabbits and other animals, a farm in an enchanted valley which is also a protected area. Towards Grosseto instead, in full Maremma, between cypresses and lush countryside, a few kilometers from Capalbio, Argentario and the magical beach of La Feniglia, we find Gloria Arbib and Giorgio Secchi’s Palmo di Terra, an enchanting farm products all organic, hebrew speaking: a small paradise of olive trees, vines and garden products at 0km, own olive oil, wonderful swimming pool and the possibility of kosher products from Rome.
